eastern counties steam weekend 95 bridgenorth, worcestershire |
||||
The event was organised by the West Anglia Great Northern Railway, took place in June 1995 and was staged to celebrate the 150th anniversary of the opening of the Bishops Stortford-Cambridge-Brandon Line (the first railway link between London and Norwich). The event ran trains between Bishops Stortford and Ely. The event that weekend was unique - in that it was the very first time, and maybe last time that two A4 Pacific class locomotives had worked together at a steam event. Sir Nigel Gresley (60007) and Union of South Africa (60009). The third working locomotive was Britannia (70000). All three engines are magnificent examples of our proud heritage.
